Circé + Medée respects your privacy. We collect only the personal information we reasonably need to answer inquiries, manage bookings and payments, provide our services, maintain appropriate records, and operate our website.
Information you give us
When you contact us, book a service, register for a course, make a purchase, complete an intake form, or subscribe to our newsletter, we may collect information such as your name, contact information, appointment or purchase details, and information you choose to provide.
Please do not send medical or sensitive health information through our general website contact form. When health information is needed for a service, we collect it through an appropriate intake process or directly with your practitioner.
Appointments, payments and registrations
We use Square for online booking, appointment communications, payments, gift cards, and some registrations and forms.
Square may process or store information in Canada, the United States, or other jurisdictions. Information processed outside Canada may be subject to the laws of the country where it is processed.
Health and treatment information
Health information is collected only when it is reasonably needed to provide a service safely and appropriately.
Treatment and client records are maintained by Circé + Médée or by the practitioner responsible for the service. Jillian Smith, RMT maintains her own Registered Massage Therapy records. Access to client information is limited to those who reasonably need it for the service, administration, or recordkeeping involved.
We do not sell, rent, or trade client information.
Website and analytics
Our website is hosted through Showit. We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our website. Our site may also include third-party features such as Instagram content and Google Maps.
These services may use cookies or similar technologies and may receive technical information such as your IP address, browser, device information, and how you interact with the site.
Where required or appropriate, you can choose whether non-essential analytics or advertising cookies are used.
Email and marketing
Appointment confirmations, reminders, receipts, and other service communications are separate from marketing.
We send newsletters and promotional emails only where we have appropriate consent. You may unsubscribe from marketing messages at any time.
Children and youth
Circé + Médée provides some services to clients under 18. We collect only the information reasonably needed for the service and involve a parent or guardian where appropriate to the client's age, circumstances, service, and applicable requirements.
Photos, testimonials and stories
We will not use an identifiable client photo, testimonial, video, or personal story for public promotion without separate permission.
Choosing not to provide promotional consent does not affect your ability to receive services. Permission may be withdrawn for future use by contacting us.
How long we keep information
We keep personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected and for applicable business, legal, insurance, professional, or recordkeeping requirements.
Treatment and course records may need to be retained longer than ordinary website inquiries.
Protecting your information
We use reasonable administrative, physical, and technical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information we hold.
No internet or electronic system can be guaranteed completely secure, which is why we ask clients not to send sensitive health information through our general website contact form.
Your information and your choices
You may contact us to ask about personal information we hold about you, request a correction, withdraw consent where applicable, or ask us to delete information that we are no longer required or entitled to retain.

We understand that plans change, people get sick, roads turn into Nova Scotia nonsense, and life occasionally throws a chair.
If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please give us at least 24 hours' notice whenever possible.
Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice may be charged up to the full session fee. Missed appointments without notice may be charged at the full session fee.
We use reasonable discretion for genuine emergencies and sudden illness. If you are contagious or unwell enough that attending would be inappropriate, please contact us rather than coming in sick just to avoid a fee.
If you arrive late, we will do our best with the time remaining, but your appointment will normally still end at its scheduled time and the full booked fee applies.
If Circé + Médée or your practitioner needs to cancel your appointment, there is no cancellation fee. Any applicable prepayment will be refunded or transferred to your rescheduled appointment.
Courses, workshops, special events, prepaid programs, and custom orders may have their own cancellation or refund terms. Those terms will be provided before purchase.
